Heat oven to 350°F.

Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking into small pieces as it cooks. Continue cooking until the sausage is browned and cooked through.

Reduce heat to low. Add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add milk and water while stirring constantly until a smooth, creamy consistency. The gravy will be thinner than normal – it will thicken in the oven.

Season with thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Continue cooking a few additional minutes until the gravy is heated through and thickened to your liking.
