1 | Large yellow onion, sliced |
1 teaspoon | Balsamic vinegar |
4 | Slices of bread |
4 ounces | Shredded or sliced Swiss cheese |
6 slices | Jones Dairy Farm Sliced Braunschweiger Liverwurst, from 8 oz. package |

Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large pot. Add onions; reduce heat to low and cover. Slowly cook onions, stirring frequently, until caramelized, about 30 minutes.

Remove cover and stir in balsamic vinegar. Cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Preheat large skillet over medium heat. Spread ½ tablespoon butter on each slice of bread.

Place 1 slice bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.

Top with 3 slices Braunschweiger Liverwurst, 2 tablespoons onions and 2 ounces cheese. Place another slice of bread on top (butter-side up).

Cook until the bottom slice is lightly browned, then flip. Continue cooking until the cheese is melted. Repeat to make the other sandwich.
